I observed some schools a week ago that were using Asus EEE PCs in the classroom. At least from initial observations and interviews, it appears that these low-cost bring substantially the same benefits as higher-cost laptops, though at a greatly reduced price. See my first-hand report over at OLPC News.
In order to be fully credible and trustworthy, the study has to be conducted on a relevant segment of schools that run the program. Your intermediary findings are good news nonetheless. When do you estimate to publish the entire study findings?
Really good idea. In order to keep schools fits we have spent an huge amount of money, if there is out ther something better, lets use it and always improve it.
Well, schools dont need very expensive laptops for classroom, it is sound to get cheeper ones if their capability is sufficiant!
